UR5 is a wireless router for 3G, EDGE and GPRS. The product has the same hardware platform as the popular ER75i GPRS/EDGE router, but UR5 uses 3G as primary connection thus getting higher data speeds than ER75i.
UR5 has the capability of transferring data with up to 3.6 Mbit/s in 3G networks with HSDPA support. The UR5 has a rugged design and is well suited for applications that require a high level of security and reliable communication. The UR5 comes with one Ethernet and one USB port. The USB port can be configured as USB host, perfect if you want to connect for example a surveillance camera.
The UR5 could be equipped with one optional port. The port could be selected as RS-232, -485, MBUS or an I/O port for analogue and digital signals. UR5 is configured by a standard web browser. The router is specially designed for secure data transmission. It supports IPsec, L2TP and GRE tunnel. The router also supports DynDNS and NTP time synchronization.
If the UR5 is used outside HSDPA coverage, the UR5 automatically switches to 3G with UMTS (up to 384 kbit/s). If the router is used outside 3G coverage it switches to EDGE (up to 236 kbit/s) or GPRS (up to 85,6 kbit/s).
